Pack Your Own Parachute

Responsibility is one of those words we hear all the time, but without it as a foundation, things generally don’t work very well.  For some people, not taking responsibility for their actions is much more comfortable for them.  They can just take it easy and blame the problems in their life on someone else. But there is always a price to pay when you don’t take responsibility for your actions.

By taking responsibility for our lives we not only gain more control over what happens, but it also becomes natural to do the right thing more consistently, which ultimately makes you feel good about yourself.

It is often said that our thoughts become our actions, but without taking responsibility for your life, those thoughts often just float around in the clouds and aren’t translated into action.

Work on becoming your best self; this of course is not easy, but the payoff is amazing.  Take control, face what’s going on, and you’ll see that new options will open up for you!  Consistent action is what pays off and can help you achieve just about anything.

Collecting and reading awesome quotes is a powerful way to keep myself in line.  Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, so just try to be as good a person as you can be!

Honesty is key, and so is knowing your “weaknesses.”  People sometimes fail to realize how much better and smoother life can be if you merely own up to your mistakes.

Apologize if you’re wrong, and don’t delay, many disagreements could be solved by simply admitting you were wrong.  After apologizing, find a solution to fix the problem, “right your wrong” if you will.  The more you “own” up to your faults, the more likely people will respect you, and take you at your word.  If you’re human (and hopefully you are haha) you’re going to make mistakes until you leave this planet, so that’s not the issue, it’s how you handle them, and whether you learn from them, that is key!

“It is a painful thing to look at your own trouble and know that you yourself and no one else has made it.”  (Sophocles)
