A Positive Attitude is the Best Attitude

Having a positive attitude is absolutely crucial for success in life…

A positive attitude makes all the difference in the world, and is also a contagious energy source that motivates and drives others.  People are naturally attracted to positive people, so when you’re feeling unproductive or unmotivated, check your attitude, and consider how your attitude may be affecting you and those around you!

The downside is that it’s not always easy to stay positive and have a good attitude. As things go wrong throughout your day or week, it can be easy to let negative thoughts take over. Thankfully there are some things that you can do on a regular basis to help ensure you keep a positive focus.

Have a peek at some positive and inspiring books
One of the best ways to maintain a positive attitude is by reading positive books. These books will absolutely encourage, inspire, and guide you. Reading requires you to sit still for awhile and focus, and by focusing on something positive it helps you to keep a positive mindset throughout the day.  I am currently reading The Power to Soar Higher by Peter Legge, and I also subscribe to his weekly e-newsletter “Insight”.  I really like how Mr. Legge thinks and writes, most of his writings are based on his everyday experiences, and what really speaks to me are his views on excellence and customer service!  Listening to him speak in person one day is on my Wish List.

Plan your day and your week
Having a clear plan for your day as well as your week can definitely go a long way to helping you maintain a positive attitude.  Knowing what you want to accomplish will help you focus on your priorities.  Being organized is key!

Understand that things don’t always go as planned
This is crucial as one of the keys to maintaining a positive attitude is understanding that things will and most definitely do go wrong.  Hope for the best, and plan for the worst is what I always say.

Always be thankful
Having an attitude of gratitude is super important!  Always take the time to be thankful.  Be thankful for what you have, who you are, and what your life is like! Even when you are experiencing a difficult time, there are always things to be grateful for!  They may not jump up and bite you on the neck, so sometimes you’ll need to look for them and recognize them.  The very act of focusing on what you are thankful for will help you maintain your positive attitude.

Surround yourself with positive people

The people around you have a big impact on you. They impact who you are, how you think, and what you value.  If you surround yourself with negative people you will probably be negative as well because you can’t help it.  Hearing negativity all day leads you to negativity.  The opposite is also true.  Surround yourself with positive people and you will be more positive.

Everyone wants a happy life, and we all know that having a positive attitude feels better than a negative one, but for some reason, we can easily be drawn to the dark side.

I have learned how to focus on the positive things, and I work very hard to try and let go of the negative stuff.  The process is not easy and to be perfectly honest, is still ongoing, but I do know one thing, having negativity in your life prevents you from living a truly positive existence.  If you want to live a positive, joyful, and happy life, you cannot be surrounded by negative people who are not encouraging your happiness.  Surround yourself with like-minded people.

Even for someone like me, who writes about positivity on a daily basis, having a positive attitude is definitely not easy, it’s a choice, and it’s up to you to be happy regardless of what’s happening around you.  We don’t have control over a lot of the things that happen in the world, but we do have control over how we react.

Did you know that complaining is actually procrastination in disguise?  It really is that simple, think about what you could get done if you put the energy and time spent complaining to better use?

Remember the expressions “a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down” and “whistle while you work” because no matter the task, a positive attitude can absolutely make it more enjoyable!  Oh and I sure hope no one’s counting how many times I used the word “positive” in this blog post LOL!

Awesome possum! I listen to Louise Hay everyday on my car stereo while going from one appointment to another. Louise is the epitome of positivity and I recommend her to all. Thanks for the reminder, Angela. Love & light, Kate
