Building Trust

Many of you know that people are unlikely to buy from you, if you are selling a service, until they know you, like you, and trust you. So the challenge is, how do you build the trust so they will buy from you?

This ABC Nightline article and clip explore the amazing power of touch to communicate nonverbally and to build trust between people, even strangers.  The touching I am advocating is “business touching” which is shaking hands. Professional sales people and politicians all know the magic of shaking hands and kissing babies. I strongly suggest that you build the habit of shaking hands into your daily routine. So, climb out from behind your computer screen and start meeting people and shake their hand. Make this magical nonverbal communication work for you.

At our next casual Friday I will practice my handshaking skills. Handshaking seems to be foreign to many women I meet. My Mom had Dale Carnegie training, and I vividly remember MoLm teaching us to use peoples names when speaking with them, and how to shake hands well each time we meet a person. Will make for an interesting time. Thanks again Len.
